The Neil Armstrong Parent Teacher Association (PTA) welcomes you to the 2024 - 2025 school year!
What is the PTA? The PTA is an organization serving as a link between home and school through various programs, services, and community events. We actively support and speak on behalf of all children to organizations that make decisions affecting children. In addition, we also assist parents in developing skills they need to raise and protect their children, while encouraging parent involvement in school.
Fundraising provides us with the means to deliver on this objective.
What types of programming does the PTA support?
Here are some of the programs that our funds and members help sponsor and/or support:
- Teacher Appreciation Week
- International Night
- Book Fairs
- Pastries with Parents
- Eagle Insider
- Carnival
- Room Parents
- Run Club
- Family Dances
- Grandparents Day
- Book Club
- Movie Nights
- P.E. Field Day
- Back to School Bash
Who can join the PTA? The PTA is made up of several chairs, our wonderful school staff, and volunteers. If you’re a parent, grandparent, aunt, uncle, close friend, neighbor, etc. – we would love to have you become a member!
What are the benefits of being a member? Membership fees support the PTA programs, give you a voice to vote on how we spend funds to support school programs (family memberships receive 2 votes), access to CAPTA State and National PTA benefits, and access to the School Directory. This year, members will also receive discounts on select PTA offerings (e.g., Yearbook, Color Run).
When are meetings held? Our General PTA meetings are held on the third Wednesday every other month in the library at 7 pm, unless otherwise stated. We use these meetings to plan events, celebrate successes, and make decisions. While you are not required to attend as a member, we encourage you to come, share your ideas, and get involved!
The bottom line: The PTA depends on parents like you to participate in your own way - whether donating, volunteering, or sharing your perspective. Every bit counts, from providing napkins for Pastries with Parents to chairing an event. Join us in delivering on our commitment to positively impact the lives of all children and families.
